TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the issues that have been repeated in the statements of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, form the “main principles of the Islamic Revolution”.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary Ali Shamkhani and other council officials.

The Leader said according to Imam Khomeini’s statements the people, national independence, commitment to Islamic principles, fight against arrogance, the Palestine issue, the people’s livelihood, attention to the destitute and elimination of poverty form the main principles of the revolution from combination of which the “geometry” of the Islamic revolution is being drawn up.

Elsewhere in his remarks the Leader said, “Revolutionary tendencies are real, quite clear, and based on the statements of Imam (Khomeini)”.

The Leader added a “proper”, “pure” and “revolutionary” thought must be “dominant” in the SNSC and its secretariat.

He urged the SNSC to consider complexities in security issues while making decisions.

He described security as a “vital” issue which has economic, cultural, political, social, and psychological dimensions.

The Leader said that the council’s decision making should be based on the “revolutionary ideology”.

Elsewhere, he said that given the new and complex methods such as cyber space and its cultural and social effects, fight against arrogance has become more difficult and sensitive.
